This March North Star teens will embark on an educational service trip to Roatan, Honduras.
PROJECT GOALS
~Learn about reef ecology, the vital role coral reefs play in the health of our planet, and the environmental challenges facing our reefs and oceans worldwide. Learn how we can impact reef health even if we live far from the ocean.
~Create games and activities that we will share with other local students and community members to teach what we have learned. This will happen through visits to other schools and organizations and as part of a free, educational event, “Exploring Coral Reefs” that we will host at North Star on Saturday, February 7, 2009.
~Travel to Honduras and experience the reef firsthand. Work with a guide at The Roatan Marine Park on projects supporting reef protection.
~Create games and activities that we will share with other local students and community members to teach what we have learned.
